Lidos Community

Founded in Malang in 2022, Lidos Community is a collective of artists and art toy creators established alongside its inaugural exhibition in the historic Kayutangan district. The collective serves as a platform for experimental and unconventional ideas, bringing together visual artists working across both two- and three-dimensional practices. Centered on independent art toy production, exhibitions, workshops, and creative exchange, Lidos fosters opportunities for local artists and designers to develop and present their work within a collaborative environment.

The collective’s projects often draw upon local culture, community dynamics, and collective movements as points of departure. Notable exhibitions include Band of Toys (2025) at Parmuse Café, Malang, which merged visual art with live performances by local music groups, Urban Horror at The Jakarta 21ˢᵗ Toys and Comic Fair (2026) at Balai Kartika Jakarta, dan Pop Angker (2026) a collaboration with Pop Selebor at Loge Café, Malang, exploring urban legends and horror folklore through contemporary visual culture. Through these initiatives, Lidos Community continues to contribute to the growth of Malang’s independent creative ecosystem while expanding the possibilities of art toy and collective-based artistic practices.
