Osyadha Ramadhana

Osyadha Ramdhana, widely known as Ocak, is an artist who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Universitas Brawijaya in 2021. Rooted in memories of childhood and Indonesia’s rich tradition of folklore, her artistic practice frequently draws inspiration from fables and folk tales, particularly the story of Kancil.

Her works are characterized by vibrant color palettes, abstract fable-like forms, and seemingly innocent gestures that conceal layered narratives. Alongside this distinctive visual language, Ocak embraces an experimental approach to materials, working across acrylic paint, textiles, wood, and found objects encountered in everyday life. This openness to material exploration allows her practice to move fluidly between painting, object-making, and installation-based approaches.

Ocak’s works have been presented through various exhibition platforms, including Tale Within Threads at ART:1 New Museum, Jakarta, and Art Jakarta with 2Madison Gallery (2024), as well as Artsubs - Material Ways at Balai Pemuda, Surabaya (2025). Beyond her studio practice, she is also actively involved in educational and community-based initiatives as a workshop facilitator and speaker. Her engagements include leading an Eco Print workshop for the Women Apple Pickers Empowerment Program in Madiredo Village, Pujon (2021), and conducting a Batik workshop for Tongseng-Kalopsia, Visual Communication Design Program of Universitas Ma Chung, at MCC Malang.
