ABOUT US

A space built for the work and the people around it, shaped by context and conversation.

About ARTMERU

ARTMERU was born from a simple belief: that Malang deserves a creative space that takes both art and its audience seriously. Not a white-cube gallery that intimidates. Not a café with a few prints on the wall. Something in between — and something genuinely needed in Kayutangan. The space runs three things at once. ARTMERU, the gallery — curated work with care and intention. Tokomeru, our retail corner — prints, zines, ceramics, creative products you can actually own. And Kopimeru, the café — because the best conversations about art usually happen over a good cup of coffee.

We're selective about what we show and who we work with — not to be exclusive, but because we believe quality and context matter. Every program, every work, every collaboration is chosen with that in mind.

PAREIDOLIA : Fragment of Intuition

OUR VISION

To be a creative space in Kayutangan that connects art, culture, and everyday life — warm, open, and enjoyable for everyone.

OUR PROGRAMS
Curated shows with context and care.
EXHIBITION

Curated shows with context and care.

Our exhibitions are the heart of ARTMERU. Each show is built around a clear curatorial intention - not just hanging work on walls, but creating an experience that gives the work room to breathe and the audience room to think.

We're doing our first show carefully. A small number of works, a clear theme, and an opening that feels like a real event — not a soft launch. We believe the way you begin matters.

Learning that doesn't feel like school.
EDUCATION

Learning that doesn't feel like school.

Workshops, artist talks, and open programs for anyone who wants to go deeper. Whether you're a practicing artist, a student, or someone who just walked in and got curious - our sessions are hands-on, honest, and worth your Saturday morning.

Education at ARTMERU is always connected to what's on the wall. The conversation between the work and the room is part of the experience. Kopimer is next door, which helps.

ARTIST MERCH BY TOKOMERU

Creative products made to be lived with.

Not everyone can buy a painting, and that's okay. Through Tokomeru, we work with artists to create products that carry real creative value - limited prints, tote bags, zines, ceramics, and objects designed with the same intention as the work on the wall.

Every product in Tokomeru is connected to an artist or a show. Nothing is decorative filler. If it's on the shelf, there's a reason it's there.
