Toyol Dolanan Nuklir
Toyol Dolanan Nuklir is the artistic identity of Abdul Khafidz Fadli, an installation and performance artist who has been active since the early 2010s. Holding a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), he has cultivated an interdisciplinary practice that bridges art, technology, sound experimentation, and local spiritual traditions. Working alongside collectives such as Waft Lab (Surabaya) and Bajra.id (Pasuruan), his projects span electronic musical instruments, sound systems, and immersive installations that explore the relationship between technological innovation and vernacular culture.
His notable projects include the noise-based sound installation Kawi = Iwak (2024) and the sound performance works Sri Tanjung and Tower Pancer, which exemplify his ongoing investigation into the cultural and transformative potential of sound. Beyond his artistic practice, Toyol actively facilitates workshops on electronic music production and experimental sound, contributing to the growth of knowledge-sharing within Indonesia’s creative communities. His contributions have been recognized through various accolades, including 1st Place (Professional Category) at the Installation Art Festival of the Erlangga Art Award, Jakarta, in 2022, further affirming his position within the evolving landscape of contemporary installation and sound-based art.
