Victor Syahrul Akbar

Victor Syahrul Akbar is an artist born in Jombang, East Java, and currently based in Malang. His practice combines decorative, figurative, and abstract elements into vibrant compositions populated by organic forms, animals, and anthropomorphic figures that blur the boundaries between memory, dream, and reality. Characterized by bold contours, highly saturated colors, and dynamic visual rhythms, his works balance expressive energy with compositional precision.

Through ongoing explorations of texture, materiality, and reconstruction, Victor transforms personal and collective memories into reflective visual narratives, inviting viewers to revisit the past as a means of understanding the present. Since 2019, he has participated in numerous exhibitions across Indonesia, including the recent group exhibition Boundary Manipulation at Soemardja Gallery, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). Alongside his involvement in various group exhibitions, he has also presented the solo exhibition Uncovering the Hidden Things at Rayz Hotel UMM, Malang.
